About
Designed for stacking vegetables on pallets for international transport,
these boxes ( strictly speaking - crates )
are made to a general international standard ( with many slight variations ),
in 3 main sizes.

Description
We call them CORNER TUBE boxes,
as at each corner there is a circular tube
to provide the vertical strength for the downward transmission of weight,
to which the lateral lattice-work net is connected.
The inside of the tube
acts as a locator for a circular lug on the corners of the base of each box,
allowing them to lock together.
400 x 300 mm boxes range from 150 to 210 mm high.

2 BASIC TYPES DESCRIBED
Big Circle
We call boxes as in the image on the 400x300 mm page, the BIG circle.
Small Circle
There is a second CORNER TUBE box type - basically the same -
we call these the SMALL circle ( see image on the 500x300 mm page ),
They have circular locator lugs top and bottom -
in a slightly smaller diameter than the Big Circles.
They stack ON TOP of the Big Circles - but usually not underneath.
They are easily recognisable,
